Senior year was electrifying but at the same time hectic. Along with planning my prom night and finishing my graduation requirements, I had to apply to colleges. This would be the beginning of the next chapter of my life. Applying for college was a long, tedious yet necessary process. Not only did I have to gather recommendations from teachers and transcripts, I had to compose a well written essay to submit with my applications. The prompt for University of Maryland-Baltimore County and Stevenson Univeristy was “Describe a place or environment where you are perfectly content. What do you do or experience there, and why is it meaningful to you?” (Common Application) The essay prompt for Towson asked me to describe what a YouTube video about me would be. I knew I could easily write about when in the future I become a nurse practitioner, the story of how I fell in love with nursing. As soon as I looked at these prompts, my heart sped up, both times. I knew immediately what I would specifically write about. My wonderful experience at Holy Cross Hospital. It was the only place that I knew I would be able to sit down and write a whole essay about. I loved going there two times a week. It was my sanctuary. It was the place that I got to help patients feel better by just flashing them a smile. That was the best part of my internship.
