Full Range Leadership Development Paper

The Full Range Leadership Development (FRLD) describes five different leadership behaviors. The most preferred being Transformational leadership, which is the most active and effective. Transformational leadership encompasses the four Is, which are: Individualized Consideration, Intellectual Stimulation, Inspirational Motivator, and Idealized Influence. These foundational traits were the most important information to me in Module 3. I believe that incorporating the four Is and transformational leadership will enable me to be the leader I have always strived to be. I found the four Is to be most important in its whole and not in parts. Being a transformational leader not only helps the individual or group work more efficiently, it more …show more content…
This will allow them to feel most comfortable working with me. It will also create an environment where they are willing and motivated to work and eventually grow as a leader. I will do this by taking each person’s individual characteristics into consideration. Providing intellectual stimulation will compound the already robust knowledge base they may have. The knowledge they will gain from me will stimulate their minds and build up cognitive resiliency and flexibility. I will be an intellectual leader by always expanding my own knowledge base and find ways to pass that information on by using the person’s preferred learning method. I should inspire the people I work with as well. I think this will be the most difficult for me. I must find what motivates each individual and group. I will then have to find a way for them to internalize that motivation, and be willing to work hard and do the right thing on their own. Lastly, it is necessary I provide idealized influence. According to Module three, I will have to internalize my organization’s values and be able to set aside my self-interests in order to build up trust and
