Freedom and equality; two different things that can be taken into the extreme wrongdoing. Our ancestors, who once had a vision for this country, would not know that this country would eventually be a world of shame. Freedom is a word that many people don’t use lightly. Freedom can pertain to being free from restraints, whereas equality pertains to all being equal or the same. Every person has their own personality and everyone is unique in their own way. Just because someone has a different color of skin than you, or has different beliefs means that they get to be punished for it? Many are kept back from equality, because it’s a result of their sacrifice to freedom. Equality is such a big part of the society today, because it plays a big role in everyone’s life. Every single person shares moral abilities and yet we still think that one person is different. There are so many people who have tried to make a difference in this country, just to be treated like everyone else. Take Rosa Parks for example. Rosa was a colored woman born in the 1900’s who made a difference for her “people.” During the Civil Rights Era, life would have been tough for anyone other than the “whites.” Anyone who was colored and wanted to ride the public buses had to sit in the back of the bus. If there wasn’t any room for the white people on the bus then the blacks had to stand. This is the situation that Rosa Parks was in, although she didn’t give up her seat. She refused and it started…
