Mainly positive interactions since the children were mainly involved in activities like tag or softball. There were two boys playing tag very aggressively, by shoving the smaller children, until a parent brought attention to the behavior and they were told to knock it off. There was also a young girl, about 6, trying to get involved the game of tag mainly being played by boys a few years older.
I feel like the development of formal-operational thinking was visible in the differences between the younger and older children swinging at the piñata while blindfolded. The younger children, still using …show more content…
The children were extremely well behaved for the most part, however, I did notice two children that were much louder and aggressive than the others. Though there were no major incidents with other children, there were a couple of occasions when these children were aggravating some of the other children and the parents displayed tendencies of uninvolved parenting. They did not pay attention to their children until there was complaints of their behavior and still the discipline seemed half-hearted.
I mainly observed the game of tag, as well as, the breaking of the piñata, opening presents, and the birthday cake. During the game of tag, one of the children’s younger sister’s kept trying to get involved until the boy made her cry by telling her to stay away. He was then talked to by his mother and acquiesced to letting her join in. There was also a couple of boys playing tag much rougher than all the others until a parent noticed and complained of their
