Farming Simulator Game Analysis

In my free time, I really enjoyed playing Farming Simulator. I've had the same game for many years on Xbox, PC, and on my phone, so I had a pretty good idea of how the game worked and what the best way to make money was. As for on the IPad, it was pretty much the same deal: get your crops in the ground as quick as possible, harvested, and store them until there was a great demand. There was one major difference pertaining to using this game as a tool in class; and that would be having to track and record your finances.

When I played this game on different platforms, I never thought about how much money I spent. My only concerned when I played was to make as much money as quick as possible so I could expand my operation. When I first heard that I was now forced to record my finances, I did not know what to think. For the past years, I never kept records, so I was not sure what to expect. It turned out to be interesting tracking my money because my records showed what my expenses actually went too. Before, I was not scared to hire workers and spend a lot of money because I knew that I would just have to sell crops to get it back; but now, I was very weary about hiring workers because it did cost quite a bit on money. By playing, I learned a lot about what it takes to keep good records, and managing my

One of the major differences was keeping the records. You had to know the amount of money you had before you started working, and subtract that from the amount of money you had once you were done. This in itself wasn't hard, but it did limit how many workers I wanted to hire because keeping them inline and tracking the money got to be difficult. Keeping track of my money would have been a lot easier if I got receipts from hired work, buying seed, fertilizer and gas. This might seem like a small inconvenience, but in a way, I was limited to the amount of work I could

Emma Marris presents us with a new way of viewing nature in the first chapter of her book, “Rambunctious Garden”. She explains that the definition of nature depicted in our “glossy magazines” describing a place “somewhere distant, wild and free” is incorrect, as it “blinds us” from the truth (Marris 1). Marris argues that we must adjust this definition to also include the nature found in “the bees whizzing down Fifth Avenue in Manhattan” and “the butterfly bushes that grow alongside the urban river” as well as the nature found in “managed national parks” (Marris 2). She uses experiences gained during her time spent in the forests of Hawaii and in Australia’s Scotia Sanctuary as evidence to support her argument. Marris also makes the point…

Summary: Farmageddon is a well-named film by Kristin Canty that documents several small family farms growing safe and healthy foods. Throughout the film, agents are sent on behalf of inexpedient government authorities that interfere with the famer’s practices. Both the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) continually go to war with guiltless farmers who are doing nothing but contributing healthful crops for their community. The main idea presented in Farmageddon is that overzealous rules and regulations have been designed to discourage local farms and encourage big agribusiness.…

If there is one subject I am worthy of teaching, it is how to kill everyone a player sees in Battlefield 4 (a wonderful video game) from 500 meters with a perfectly placed headshot. I am prepared to give three main tips for sniping success that everyone should know: always lead the target, always finish them off, and always check for other snipers. First off, players should always lead their target. Whether they are sprinting, walking, crouch-walking, or crawling, players will generally need to lead the target (shooting in front of the target so that the bullet will hit them.) From 300+ meters, the bullet takes long enough to reach the target that s/he (the target) will have moved enough to affect the shot.…

God Made a Farmer It may not have been as dramatic as the stadium blackout that stopped play for more than a half-hour, or as exciting as the game, but for many viewers of Super Bowl XLVII, one of the standout moments was a deceptively simple ad for the Dodge Ram called "God Made a Farmer. " This ad has a total run time just above two minutes which showed beautiful pictures from ten well established photographers. The photography was tough to beat, but the ads true power is dedicated to the voice of the narrator, Paul Harvey, who passed away in 2009. Harvey was followed by millions of Americans during his broadcasting life, and one of his most memorable moments was his broadcast to the Future Farmers of America in 1978.…

Growing up, I had always loved challenging myself by building and designing things. From childhood hobbies like drawing to learning how to sew pajamas to attempting to build the Eiffel Tower out of Popsicle sticks, I never failed to find new outlets for my creativity. In fact, the reason why I decided that I wanted to pursue engineering was because of a simulation game I liked to play whenever I had free time. In the game, I was able to design and build the most opulent and expensive houses that I could think of. Playing this game, I realized that I was passionate about having the ability to create beautiful and functional things from simple materials, and this is what inspired my interest in engineering.…
