Exemplary Box Analysis

Improved Essays
I believe my participation grade should be an A, or somewhere in the 90’s range. When I filled out the rubric for myself I circled the exemplary box for five out of six of the categories. I circled the exemplary box for these categories because I strongly feel that I am a respectful and engaged student much more often than not. Obviously I am not perfect and I do not always display perfect behavior but I believe I display good behavior almost always. The only category I circled proficient for instead of exemplary is the “Level of Engagement in Class” category and I will get into detail about why I feel that way later in my essay. The first two categories I want to discuss are the “Level of Engagement in Class” and “Listening Skills” categories. I feel that I display exemplary behavior in the listening category because it is a rare event for me to have side conversations during group discussions. Maybe a friend will ask me for a pencil or if I agree that it is very hot in the classroom, but other than that there are only one or two times where I recall actually not listening to the objective at hand. I am trying my best to listen attentively when others are presenting or when the teacher is speaking. I understand that there is always room for improvement in all categories, but, for me, I feel …show more content…
First of all, I believe I display exemplary behavior because I almost never display disruptive behavior. I have never made intentional rude remarks or distracting comments. When I am in class I rarely refuse to listen or participate. The “Behavior” category is like the overall category so basically, all the points I have made before for other categories can be used to defend the “Behavior” category. Lastly, I display exemplary behavior in the “Preparation” category because I have only forgotten my Simple Solutions book once and I have never failed to pass an assignment in on

Someone could use these habits for different things like handling their attitude, all the way to getting themselves a good education. Even if someone doesn't believe that listening in class doesn't matter, it truly does. As Michael Nicholos said in his book, The Lost Art of Listening, he states "To listen is to pay attention, take an interest, care about, take to heart, validate, acknowledge, and appreciate (Nicholos 14). Then back to being proactive, people can even be proactive when listening during school, presentation, etc. This is because if someone is paying attention to the people that are teaching/speaking, they will become more proactive by respecting them by giving them all their attention.…

To begin with, the old, shabby black box represents how a small country village is unwilling to give up a tradition they have held on to for more than 70 years. The village people are excited about, June 27th, and the day of the lottery. The old shabby black box has faded in some places showing wood colors. Mr. Summers, the owner of the local coal company, has struggled with the process over the years and many things have changed. The changes are: no yelling, no pledging to the American flag, and no reporting on who was murdered the previous year.…

Another characteristic I demonstrate is leadership. One example of this is setting good examples such as not talking when the teacher is talking, participating in class activities, and doing my work. Whenever an argument is about to break out, I always try to stop it before it occurs. I’ve also done service before too (sort of). I collected all the…

Disappointments Since I started the ACCG950 course, there are not many disappointed points. I would say that my disappointment relates to the location of our classroom and the attendant of students. Firstly, I acknowledge that the classroom was changed because the room is too small for all students. With your concerns, the new room is big enough for all students; however, the number of students attending the lecture has been low.…

Aly Daniels Journal #1 Thoughts from the Week: The week seemed to take forever, once I entered the classroom. However, the favorite part of my day is the end of math, right before I leave for the day. This is my favorite part of practicum because it is a time when I actually get to work with, help, and interact with the students. This week was especially amazing because I helped a student who normally becomes frustrated during math.…

I was assigned to Mrs. Michelle Lawrence’s fourth-grade classroom for my practicum observations and final lesson. This was a great choice for me because this is the grade I hope to be assigned to teach. Do to some problems with getting our practicum schools set we started much later into the school year than was originally planned and it put us into the classrooms during the State Testing practice weeks. Therefore, most of my time observing this class was watching the administration of a never-ending string of practices tests. During this time, Michelle didn’t teach a single lesson to her students, in fact she hardly spoke to them.…

Observation I chose Representing Race (Asian Studies) class as a site to make observations of Temple students in order to relate to my chosen topic. I think this class is the most suitable as the course fulfill the Gen Ed Race and Diversity requirement. The class is quite informal where discussions and differences of perspectives are necessary. Thus, it is easier for me to observe the classroom behavior instead of major-related class where it only focuses on topics that stated in the course syllabus. As I am also a student in that class, I decided to observe the teaching methods and classroom behavior passively.…

Reflection About Classroom Teaching Experience Being an educator is a challenge and a new learning experience each time. As an educator, I am entrusted with the responsibility of shaping the way students think and feel in the classroom. I have always wanted to be an educator and share my experiences with the new generation of nurses. When I was assigned to work with professor Lynette Rayman to do my classroom teaching experience, I was thrilled because the topic I chose was chronic kidney disease which also happens to be my area of expertise. I had to incorporate my previous learning experiences to make my presentation lively.…
