• Objective: The primary objective is to determine if pedometers increase or improve health.
• Data Source: There were two investigators who independently abstracted data about the intervention, which consisted of the participants, steps per day, and chronic illness. The data was determined by using random calculations and meta-regression.
• Study Selection: The studies were eligible for inclusion only if reported as an assessment of pedometer use by adult outpatients, where the study also reported change in steps per day.
• Data Extraction: The data had been reported by the investigators as the participants, steps …show more content…
Surgeon general usually recommends one to exercise for 30 minutes or more daily to become healthy. One can spilt the exercise time into 15 minute trials or do it all at once. When you feel slightly out of breath or warm during physical activity the condition is call “moderate intensity”. Depending on the intensity level of the exercise 30 minutes is perfect amount of time to become healthy. Many individuals tend to overestimate their activity level and by doing this it can cause one to underwork his or herself. Exercise scientist discovered this when the patients exercise levels weren’t accurate to the levels desired. This is the reason the pedometer was developed to give individuals accurate results and to eliminate overestimation. Several instructors have tested pedometers to motivate their students to increase their physical activity and track the progress to reach any set goals. The routine makes students aware of the standard 3 from the Nation Association for Sport and Physical Education. An instructor must explain the importance of the pedometer, how it works, how to maintain a healthy lifestyle and the importance of goal setting.
