Communication is a vital part of every living thing’s life. We as humans, use communication to understand each other, achieve things, and evolve. There are two types of communication: verbal and nonverbal (body language). Verbal communication which consists of all the communication that is transferred by words and, it only exists in human beings. Nonverbal communication consists of the communication that other parts of the body are used to achieve. The amount of the information sent differs depending on which type of communication is used. This part of the brain is responsible for all the types of verbal communication (Paul Broca, 1861). Speech can be learned in an early stage of life, therefore people are used to it and it can easily be fabricated since its created by humans, because of that we cannot rely on it to find out if someone is lying or not. Verbal communication doesn’t have that great effect on people, for example if you hear someone saying that he is happy it will not have that much effect on you than if you see him smiling, even the person can’t believe that he is happy, but for the smile, even if you are sad it will trigger some happiness in you. If you just hear the sound of a person, you will not be able to determine whether the person is lying, sad or nervous, because you don’t get enough signs only from speech. Some non-verbal communications are learned in early life, such as face expressions and body posture and movements, but it takes a lot of time and observation to understand a part of non-verbal communication. Once non-verbal communication is learned one can rely on it to understand whether the opposite person is lying or saying the truth. Even though someone can lie about his emotion by smiling, but he can’t make his entire body lie, for example if someone is looking at the right, it means that the person is trying to remember, but if he looks at the left it means that the person is trying to make a story. When a person’s arms are crossed it means he is not feeling comfortable, and there are many other signs. Non-verbal can have a great impact on the opposite person because someone can understand whether you are interested in what is he saying or not, and if you are listening or not.
