Having just enough money to cover one month’s rent, deposit, and some cushion money, he begins his journey toward the city of angels. He picks up his blue leopard-print drawstring backpack off the ground and jumps in his large rented 16 ft moving truck. Packing one life away for another, Oliver imagines the palm trees swaying near the ocean during sunset. Three blocks over, Alex’s small white honda sports car, has a light film Oil, presumably from the palm trees above. the wind of the city feels euphoric on Oliver’s face, he leans his hand out the window. The first the place Alex drives to is Beverly Hills just after turning off of Sunset Boulevard. The streets are dark, and the shrubs are so high, Oliver barely gets a glimpse of the houses hidden behind. Beverly Hills by Weezer randomly comes on the radio; the two let out a small laugh. Next Alex drives up the twisty roads of Mulholland Drive. Alex parks in one of the scenic viewpoints. The two men gaze at city lights together, both amazed by the sight. Ending back out on the highway - driving under a dark tunnel — he sees the ocean - which smells like the tears of alligators. The Santa Monica beach and the sea illuminate under the lonely white moon in the night sky. A light fog rolls over the beach. Alex stops the car along the road Pacific Coast
