Community leaders and members have to realize that growth doesn’t just happen magically, it must be worked for. Community leaders have to research and find brokers and economic developers to help their town to grow and flourish. This allows those brokers and developers to grow their assets and the community to grow in ways they could of never imagined.…

Rainsford changed over the course of the story for several reasons. One way Rainsford changed during the course of the story was Rainsford thoughts on if the animal being hunted feels something when they know they're being hunted. At the beginning of the story, Rainsford strongly expressed his opinion that an animal, specifically a jaguar, has no sense of fear of pain or death and that you are either a creature that hunts or one who is hunted and the ones who are hunted do not have fear. However when Rainsford himself, is being hunted by another human he realizes what fear an animal being hunted has and the danger the feel knowing any wrong move could get them killed. Another way Rainsford changed throughout the story was his opinion on General…

A civilized society is hard to define due to the cause of uniqueness around the world and the diversity between societies. What makes one society civilized may be in contrast to another society 's beliefs, which makes determining a civilized society a difficult task. By definition, a civilized society is one that has been brought to a stage of social, cultural, and moral development and is considered to be more advanced. In the novel, Things Fall Apart, Achebe writes the story to portray the Ibo society as a civilized society in many aspects of life including government, religion, and societal roles. To begin, the Ibo society is civilized in many aspects of its culture, including the government, including the organization of men in the clan.…

Domestic tranquility in the United States is outlined by the Constitution and can be better understood as the way in which society lives in harmony (Wilson). Unfortunately, society has not reached a state of tranquility yet. This can be traced to ideas of racism, sexism, and other means of discrimination in the United States. Although some strides have been made to try and counteract these modes of discrimination, society has recently taken a step back in its development towards a tranquil state. Specifically, the rhetoric used by Donald Trump has been linked to ideas of racism and sexism.…

English 106 was the first real college class that I ever stepped foot in, and because of that, I was extremely nervous and unsure. The English teachers at my high school always said that the papers they assigned were held to college standards, and I always did well on those assignments, but I was still unsure about this course. I expected this course to be loaded with reading and writing assignments that would make me pull all-nighters on a regular basis. After going through English 106, I realized that there were not too many assignments and that I learned a lot from each one. To me, the most salient parts of this course were the discourse community paper, the annotated bibliography, the art analysis, peer reviews, revisions, and reflections.…

Inhumanity: Then and Today What makes a human has been argued upon for unmeasurable amounts of time but there are some points commonly agreed upon. Of course humans are the sole species that have ability of speech (Choi para 10), but humans are the only animals that can express emotion through means such as laughing and crying (Burton para 3-4). Humans also are the only living creatures that can have beliefs and reasoning, which in a way helps explain the subject of the Holocaust. In World War II the Nazi party along with the Wehrmacht, or the German armed forces committed horrendous war crimes.…
