Tension and competition filled the room as she continued to tell the story of an innocent girl being accused of first degree reckless homicide.
Randa is a dedicated member of the school’s Mock Trial team and is the attorney that closes the case for the defence.
“The case is about an accidental drug overdose and we’re representing the defendant Tristan Marks. We’re saying that he didn’t give Riley Thomas - the person who died - the drugs, and that the drugs didn’t kill him,” Randa said.

“Each year at the tournament, they give out the top litigator or attorney award and the top witness award for the entire tournament,” head coach Danielle Gondik-Anderson said.
Randa won this award against dozens of other attorneys competing from the entire region.
“It’s really cool to win and definitely an honor. The people on my team have taught me a lot about what I know and I couldn’t have done it without them,” Randa said.
In between the regional and state competitions, the team worked together to improve their cases. They try to prepare as much as possible, but not everything can be planned.
“A lot of teams have points that you’ve never thought about, or there’s times where you have to think on your feet that you just can’t prepare for going into a competition,” Randa said.
Randa says that the improvisation is one of the reasons that she wants to be a lawyer.
“I like that you’re upholding people’s rights as Americans, and I personally love going up to the stand and presenting the case that we built,” Randa said.
Her natural talent of litigating shows through to her peers and her
