On the topic of air pollution, Canada has made several prospective promises. According to the policy, Canada will reduce its net GHG (Greenhouse Gases) emission by around 17% relative to 2005. Canada also promises to improve indoor air quality by implementing better technology inside of homes and workspaces. Canada is also funding a program named ecoEnergy. EcoEnergy allows the Canadian government to fund its renewable energy projects, and to encourage …show more content…
From multiple of Canada’s water pollution policies, we could see that Canada tries extremely hard to protect its water sources, such as Lake Erie and the St. Lawrence River. In fact, Target 3.3 in the water pollution sector specifically states that Canada would want to remove 25% of the Canadian Areas of Concern from the Great Lakes area. I believe that this is great initiative, and would benefit all the people around it, as it would increase the drinking water quality of Canadians by about 15%. Another step that Canada would want to take is to reduce marine pollution. Canada plans to reduce the marine pollution by about 5% in 2013-2016 by identifying pollutant releasing vessels during pollution patrol. Connecting to the previous policy, Canada also plans to ensure that 85% of the ocean disposals are safe to dispose waste at, and does not need further security scans. This prevents any additional pollution by dumping waste into the ocean, and also protects marine shore ecosystems and species. From this, I think that Canada is taking great initiative, and playing a big role in protecting water
