The jellyfish is nothing like a fish it has no skeleton and most of its body is jelly like. They travel in groups named swarms and when they multiply they turn into blooms. Blooms go out of control because of the eggs that are produced each day. Jellyfish are able to form colonies and cause more mayhem. Steve Hay, a plankton ecologist said “science data shows that over the past few years there has been an increase in swarms of jellyfish”. Although jellyfish …show more content…
The fish industry is in trouble because the jellyfish is eating all of the eggs and larvae of the fish. Therefore, the jellyfish is also affecting the ecology. Jellyfish blooms can affect the functionality of a power plant. There’s been reports of power plants shut down by jellyfish clogging the system. Even the humans are affected by the growth of the jellyfish. For example, fishermen can’t make a living when jellyfish is not letting fish grow. Without a doubt the jellyfish growth is obvious. In addition, more than one solution has been found for the jellyfish growth. One of the solutions for this problem, according to the Jellyfish Take Over article, is to use a new type of jellyfish called the Bereo which eats other jellyfish. That way the Bereo helps make a more stable ecosystem. High school students from Japan thought about another solution which is to cook the jellyfish and turn them into caramel candies. Scientists are still looking for more solutions for the fast growth of the
