As their bodies start to slowly mature their movements become more accurate and organized. In the Down Syndrome Education Online, by Ben Sacks and Sue Buckley, stated that, “The research studies indicate that the pattern of motor skill development for individuals with Down syndrome is largely one of delay rather than difference, though attention needs to be given to developing strength and balance, and that they learn most effectively visually, from imitating a model, rather than verbal instructions.” It is found that the most efficient way is to become better in motor skills is to practice especially children with Down syndrome. It is found that children with Down syndrome need more practice than typically well-developed children to boost their performance. For example, a child attempting to catch a ball is difficult especially they do not know how to properly catch one.
