The discharge plan will be carefully discussed with the caregiver once Jane meets all the goals completely. However, meeting the goals should not be the only criterion of concern when planning the discharge. Due to the nature of DS, individuals require lifelong support in order to meet the developmental milestone; therefore, OT will recommend the caregiver to set up new goals for the next developmental level. The Occupational therapist will provide evidence-based information regarding current age equivalent movements, further deficiency, and possible functional limitations that Jane might encounter.
