It states in the book that children’s attitudes with people with disabilities change during Preschool and Elementary (G.Ramsey, 2015).My heart goes out to these beautiful children because I have a nephew with Down Syndrome and he is 3 months old. I know if anyone would put him down or make fun of him I would be mad and hurt. Bullying is so easy with children that are disabled and they cannot fend for themselves. The book states to do skits, puppets, put dolls out so that the children can express their feelings and you can see if the children are being bullied (G.Ramsey, 2015). The task that make me feel confident is being able to be kind and friendly to everyone because it makes people more comfortable and they will be able to trust you and it helps them to see that you are there for them no matter what. The task that makes me feel uncomfortable and incompetent is the fear of not knowing how to handle a situation with someone who is disabled and feeling pity for them because some of them cannot do what some of them can. (G.Ramsey, 2015). Being able to set up the classroom to accommodate the child that is handicapped. I know that I need to put away these fears and the feeling of pity because I need to know that they can hear, see, and show they can understand in a different way I just have to learn
