Donald Trump's Wall Necessary Or Unnecessary

Donald Trump’s Wall Necessary or Unnecessary Donald Trump’s immigration plan has an outrageous bill. He calls for an increase in security along the border that the United State just does not have. Donald Trump’s main point on illegal immigration is, he wants to build the wall on the border of the Texas and Mexico. The question I am posing for this paper is is Donald Trump’s wall cost effective and is it really necessary? The government is already having a monetary problem with the country being almost 16.5 trillion dollars in debt. “The U.S. government would have to pay to maintain the wall, which could cost as much as $750 million a year” this quote is from CNBC and the cost mentioned does not even include the cost of increasing the …show more content…
"Mexican people, we are not going to pay any single cent for such a stupid wall, and they need to know that," Calderon had said. "And it 's going to be completely useless." This was said by former Mexican president Felipe Calderon. Donald Trump has said many times that Mexico is going to pay for it, but he has also said that through the trade deficits the United States currently has with Mexico that Donald Trump has said he is going to fix the trade will all nations but he had said that with the trade deficits fixed the money coming in from Mexico will pay for the wall. “Mexico must pay for the wall and, until they do, the United States will, among other things: impound all remittance payments derived from illegal wages; increase fees on all temporary visas.” This was taken from Donald Trump’s campaign website, he goes on to say “increase fees at ports of entry to the United States from Mexico [Tariffs and foreign aid cuts are also options].” Through increased tariffs and foreign aid cuts as well increasing the cost of Mexican, CEO Visas will essentially pay for the wall. This way Mexico would be paying for the wall but not directly it would be indirectly through trade and increased. Due to the former president’s comments, Donald Trump has increased the height of the …show more content…
Donald Trump’s wall is not a feasible project to help the country combat illegal immigration. The money is not there and the amount of work it would take to build the wall. Just the amount of concrete necessary to build it would be more than four Hoover Dams! The Hoover Dam has 6.6 million tons of concrete in it, the wall plan calls for more than four times that amount. Also, the cost of tripling the ICE and the United States Customs Border Patrol may be necessary to combat the problem but at this point in time, it is not a realistic goal because the money is not there. The country is in sixteen trillion dollars in debt without a major influx of money and paying the debt off the country does not have the money to complete this project. President Bush and Obama failed the Security Fence Act of 2006 is still not complete and it was just a fence and it cost almost 2 billion dollars. A wall that is four times the size of the Hoover Dam is not going to cost six billion dollars. I believe that Donald Trump’s plan for immigration is exaggerated and that wall is just a way to stir the country up and to raise concern for the real problem of illegal immigration. The wall that he proposes does not have a set height or thickness. The cost is way too high for the American government at this point in

Because undocumented immigrants are willing to be paid less, Americans struggle to compete for the jobs. We have Americans out of work, but foreigners having more jobs than American citizen does not make sense. According to Donald Trump’s website, he wants to “put the needs of working people first” (“Immigration Reform”). This idea leads to Trump’s big plan of building a wall which is needed to prevent illegal immigration. Even though many may think building a wall is rude, I personally think it is just a clever way to prevent undocumented immigrants from entering; however, I do not agree with Trump’s plan to make Mexico pay for the wall.…

Donald Trump wants protection for our country just as the people of the U.S., and those on the opposing side. In conclusion, Donald Trump should not be elected president. His racial inequality, lack of respect, and ideas are going to cause the U.S. many problems. Both sides just want a good economy and protection. Many believe immigration is an escalating conflict in the United States, especially with our President-Elect Donald J. Trump. Trump defames the Mexican population by stating, “When Mexico sends its people, they [are] not sending their best. They [are] sending people [who] have lots of problems” (Kohn). This was the moment where his plan inspired millions to elect him as our next president and make history. His quote set up a platform for a debate over immigration, but his claim can be proven wrong.…

According to the American Action Forum, the price tag for this undertaking would be in the range of $420 billion to $620 billion. Thus the cons of sending back all those people outweighs the pros of sending them back. We could build a wall around the Mexican border, but I can’t see how that would benefit anyone, as it would be even more of a waste of money as people could just easily cross over, making it all the more…

    7. Donald Trump has promised since day one of his bid to become president, that he would build a wall between the Mexican/American borders, and stop the flow of illegal immigrants once and for all. From a philosophical principle Trump is applying the teachings of Stuart Mills idea of the greater good, or utility, but also using the “Veil of Ignorance” among his supporters to get what he wants. Using Mills idea to of a greater good, Donald Trump is skewing it as a utility for the greater good of the United States. Trumps campaign slogan during the 2016 presidential election was “Make America Great Again”, one the aspects Trump attacked that made America not great.…

A lot of his promises have been pretty far fetched. Trump wants to build a wall - and make Mexico pay for it. His own supporters are skeptical of this promise, because they know how expensive it would be and there is no proof on how he would get Mexico to pay for it. Repealing Obamacare is a very popular notion. However, it would take huge majority in Congress for repeal.…

As a Republican candidate running for president, Trump thinks the immigrants are rapists, criminals, and drug dealers. Trump is bias towards the immigrants because he anticipates that the immigrants commit the majority of the crime and violence in America. From a moral standpoint, I believe Trumps immigration plan is unfair because it asserts certain groups of people to be different than the others. Although I am a U.S. citizen, my parents came from a different country. Consequently, Trump 's plan will deport my family, and my friends, and possibly your family and friends too.…

As Jordan delved into previously, the historical failures of preventing undocumented immigration through the building of barriers is apparent. Not only is the wall proposed by our current President extremely costly, especially for a nation trillions of dollars in debt, but said wall will not even be effective in the long run. Your political beliefs are that of your own, but I ask you, look at the facts and…
