Would you be angry if you lost millions of dollars every year because people don’t pay their taxes? Well that’s how the government feels about illegal immigrants when they cross the U.S. and Mexico border. Illegal immigrants are crossing the border and are getting jobs in the United States, without any documents. American citizens are paying more taxes and that money goes to places like churches and charities that are protecting illegal immigrants so they can stay and get some money. A wall across the U.S. and Mexico border will protect American jobs and reduce crime because, jobs are being taken, illegal immigrants are not paying taxes on their jobs, and many criminals will not be able to smuggle items across the border. One reason why a wall should be built, is because jobs are being taken away. Immigrants who come to the U.S, illegally, end up getting a job when they are not supposed to. They have no documents so they can not be hired. If an illegal immigrant does get hired, the person who hired them can receive criminal penalties. All types of drugs are being smuggled into the U.S. due to gaps in the current border wall. There are six main drugs that are most commonly smuggled into the United States, according to therecoveryvillage.com; Methamphetamine, Powdered cocaine, Marijuana, Crack cocaine, Heroin, and Oxycodone. Mexican cartels are making an estimated nineteen to twenty nine billion dollars a year, as reported by therecoveryvillage.com. All the money comes from American drug abusers in the U.S, If we stop the flow of drugs coming into the United States from Mexico, we will also stop the amount of people who abuse drugs. The wall will make it harder for cartels to smuggle drugs into the United
