Will Discrimination Ever Stop? Discrimination has had a big impact on everyone in our world since the old days until now and especially in LGBT community. LGBT stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender. While researching I came across some articles by the LGBT community and how people treat them poorly due to their sexuality. In addition, they are not only treated poorly due to their sexuality, but are also denied from their human rights. The LGBT community faces many problems the one stood out in particular was health care, The LGBT community faces discrimination similar to the Lacks family on the other hand there are also judged and treated unfairly due to their sexuality.

What is AIDS and HIVS you ask? AIDS stands for Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome it is a chronic, potentially life-threatening condition caused by the human immunodeficiency virus called HIV it stands for human immunodeficiency virus, it damages your immune system. HIV also causes your body's ability to fight the organisms that cause disease. HIV is also a sexually transmitted infection. In addition, I came across a website called HIV.gov where I found some interesting facts about the problems LGBT people face “More than 1.1 million people in the U.S. are living with HIV today, and 1 in 7 of them don’t know it” (n.p). It also stated, “Gay and bisexual men, particularly young African American gay and bisexual men, are most affected with HIV” (n. p). To this day LGBT still struggle with HIVS and AIDS but on the other hand the health care issues has improved a lot since the …show more content…
