Discrimination has been existent in America since the dawn of time. In some form or another, people have compared themselves to their peers based on looks or intellect. Those who belonged to a particular group or had a particular characteristic, whether good or not, were cast aside, a pariah, to society. Direct and indirect forms of discrimination can be seen in everyday life. In my opinion, I believe it is morally wrong to discriminate anyone. I also believe that no matter what we do, there will always be discrimination against other people, regardless of the circumstances.

When it comes to disability, a person may be denied a job because of it. In consequence of their disability, they are not allowed to do certain things like other people who have none. However, most employers use this excuse to protect the disabled person from getting hurt more than they already are. A person in a wheelchair shouldn’t be exposed to working conditions that involve lifting heavy objects or climbing. They’re too much of a liability for their employer and their coworkers. There are some occasions when it can be considered morally acceptable to give a particular group more privilege than the rest in order to make atonements for unfair treatment in the past. I believe this is done in order to help build trust between different communities, which is needed to slowly eliminate discrimination altogether. However, if situations like these backfire and take a turn for the worst, not only will it create more social unrest in the country than it already is, but it will also make discrimination less justifiable in its good intention.

It can lead to the point where lives are endangered as a result of so much hate or worse, life may not be worth living because discrimination is all they’ve seen in their life. As long as there’s hate in the hearts of people, discrimination will keep growing. If there’s ever a time when discrimination can be

Equality Within the comforts of the modernized human civilization that we all experience upon a daily basis, a person can easily forget how privileged they are to be existing in such a time of human equality and take that for-granted. However, times were not always as pleasant as they currently are; different diversities of people were not only shamed for their race, gender or ethnicity, but they were abused for it. Discrimination and racism are both things that happen a lot in the world today. Back then in the late 1800’s and mid 1900’s it was worse because people were actually separated by their race and skin color. Plessy v.s ferguson and brown v.s board of education are both really important cases that have impacted the future and changed the world for the better. Plessy v.s ferguson took place in 1890, when there was the separate car act. That act did not allow blacks to sit with whites all across Louisiana.…

People in the U.S have been discriminated against for a long time. Until the late 1800s, the inhabitants of the U.S have generally been Caucasians. Despite being a nation of immigrants, when people of different races such as Asian, Hispanics, or anything that isn’t Caucasians is involved, they are most likely going to be discriminated against simply for being different during those time. Presently, most people have come to understand more about the different sorts of race and ethnicity but not everyone decides to change their ways.. Most of the time, people are discriminated based on their looks, abilities, or even a mistake they’ve made in the past.…

I believe that positive or negative discrimination of any kind is wrong. I completely understand that throughout our history minority groups have been prejudiced against in the past. But to implement a system of positive discrimination does not help the issue we have as a country. Actually having positive discrimination in its very nature we are discriminating against the other minorities. Positive discrimination was created only with good intentions and has helped thousands but it’s also feeding the stereotype that minorities are ill-equipped to hold the jobs that they worked hard for.…
