Technology has become such a presence in everyday life, but what has technology really done to the generations of today? The internet has overpowered this era, making it impossible to establish face to face personal connections. There is a danger that comes with technology being so available and easy to obtain at all times. Technology and family dynamics are a strong presence in the two films. The American film “Disconnect” directed by Henry Alex Rubin portrays multiple family dynamics with technological impact. The global issue is the stress that technology has placed on family dynamics everywhere around the world, technology has slowly taken time away from the importance of family. In the film “Disconnect” phones, laptops, and the internet were such a main source of attention in their everyday lives, that the most important things were neglected. The current era is at such a disconnect with one another, and the introduction of more technology is not helping. In this film the family dynamic is strange and complex but when the roles are switched the fathers get to see benefits and disadvantages that technology can provide. One disadvantage was again hiding behind a screen when one of the father gained technology and One of the roles involved losing technology in which the other father starts to see the joy in communication and opportunities putting down the internet screen can have. The father that loss technology began reading and saw the joy around him in spending more time with Nina his daughter and the students in his class. Another situation that occurred in this film was the death of Nina’s mom prior to the experiment, it was revealed that the accident occurred because the mother was texting and driving. Technology has become such a need, that phones are not put away or placed aside, even in serious situations such as driving. So many deaths have occurred because of texting and driving and it is also a global issue that should be addressed. Texting and driving not only affects the person committing the dangerous activity but also impacts the other driver that was involved in the accident. Talking about the cinematography involved in “Beat a Ignoranza” were realistic lighting, soft lighting, and pictorial lighting to make it feel like an everyday moment.
