Such as greeting the caller with a nice tone of voice and smile. Following this rule or scripted dialogue will make things go smoother and for the caller to be patient with us. But because the calls only last about less than a minute it's not much different unless a caller is just in a bad mood then it will result in breaking the rules. With better examples, I used to work for target and there are a lot of rules that we have to abide with. For example, I'm in charge of the fitting room and operator, picking up phone calls. We are expected to greet every guest we see and introduce them to an item that will likely make them buy. As an operator, I'm expected to transfer guests calls to the appropriate department to help them with their questions. I didn't even know what was in the code of conduct, I have to look at the college website to find information about it. But it's natural to know what to do in a school setting because we all are here for a reason and it's because of education. It's interesting how the school communicates and appoint us student referring that not only do we follow but to remind us that it's our responsibilities.
