Develop and implement policies and procedures to support the safeguarding of children and young people.

In my setting we work closely with the child and parents and have a duty to ensure the safety and welfare of every child. We want all parents to feel safe and secure about leaving their child in our care. We follow the EYFS and this states ‘The provider must take necessary steps to safeguard and promote the welfare of children’. Therefore as practitioners we are responsible for ensuring that our policies, procedures and practices effectively safeguard each child our care. And that all staff are responsible and understand about safeguarding and how we use this in our setting to keep everyone safe.

Children are encouraged to select their own snack and drink making choices about tasting foods and drinks and knowing when they have had enough. At lunch children having hot dinners self-serve their own vegetables for their meals making choices about needs. They scrap their plate when done and stack on the side and collect there pudding.
