“What Is Home”
What is home? If you look up the definition of the home it would come out to be, Home is a permanent place where one lives. Nevertheless, the definition of a home goes much beyond its visible description. A home is the place where you not only feel comfortable, but the place you look forward to living in every day. It surrounds you with a community that will always be there for you. A home is a place that makes you nostalgic if you are gone for long periods of time. A home is not just built with bamboo, sticks, and wood, but with the bond of your loved ones. Home is a place where you feel comfortable living everyday of your life.

For example: cows, goats, and dogs move around all the time and people walking around wearing saris (Nepalese dress). Also, you would see temples everywhere. I think of those days where we used to drink tea in a tea shop, and I start remembering how wonderful that tea was. Around comes the first week of November and homesickness starts to really hit me hard because it’s the time of the festivals, called Diwali. It’s a festival of light. On the opening night every household conducts a puja to honor deities of wealth, knowledge, and prosperity. On the second day, we come together as a family and neighbors to meet together. We do a variety of activities like sharing gifts, singing songs and playing games. These are memories that everyone treasures. We play a game called duisi-vaila, it's basically going to your neighbor's house and telling stories. Seeing the Diwali celebration going on from far away, it reminds me of the past joy and it makes me feel sad that this is no longer my reality. In the end we have to accept the fact that moving far from your home has some downsides, even though you live in a great country.
A home is a place where you can feel comfortable and safe. Home is a place where you can be yourself. “The thrill of coming home has never changed”, says Guy Pearce. When you walk into to my garage, you will see lots of soccer shoes, electrical stuff, and old books. These items have a special part in my life. Those books remind me of a day when I could barely write English. Those were the books that helped me learn. The cleats remind me of the days when I used to go play soccer every single day after school, no matter how tired I was. When I walk into my room the first thing I see is the pictures of my family and a picture of my favorite soccer club, Real Madrid.
