As for my effort, I make sure I fill my school schedule with the most difficult classes I am able to handle. While in high school, I have taken several college courses, along with the regular high school courses, and maintained high grades collectively. As a sophomore in high school, I became a member of University of Virginia College at Wise Upward Bound program. I have maintained excellent grades while in the Upward Bound program. While in the Upward Bound program, I have become more confident in myself and maintaining outstanding grades. I am extremely proud of myself for becoming a part of the program, and I would recommend it to anyone. I believe all students should strive to do their best in everything they do, as I have done myself. As a scholar, I strongly believe I am qualified to join the National Honor

Sheryl Sandberg revolutionized the word when she defined leadership as: “making others better as result of your presence and making sure that impact lasts in your absence.” Many factors and elements have shaped my personal growth, including church, family, and school, but what all of those elements have in common is that they exhibited one of the pillars that I should strive to model: Leadership, Character, Service, and Scholarship. WHY I WANT TO JOIN THE HONORS PROGRAM Alighting from a Boeing 747 jetliner on the JFK tarmac on Thursday evening, April 28, 2016, I walked into what could be called a new page in my life story—a new start.
