Throughout my years in high school so far, I have worked hard and dedicated myself to my studies in order to excel academically. I am honored to receive an invitation to join the National Honors Society. During my freshman and sophomore year, I have participated in many activities and volunteer opportunities that have arisen that demonstrate leadership, service, and character.
I pride myself on being a loyal, ambitious, and kind-hearted individual. I exemplify the value of character through assisting members of my community. Being apart of the Link Crew A Team and making sure that the first day of school for new students ran smoothly, was an experience that made me aware of all the hardwork put in to make sure that the new students feel as welcomed and comfortable as possible, whether they are transitioning from middle school to highschool, or from a high school in a different district. I, along with others on the team set up and took down posters, tables, and chairs for the welcoming assembly and also made paper bags filled supplies needed for the games and activities. Every week, I always attend the meeting that presents new opportunities for community service. Some volunteer events that I have participated in over the course of the past two years are the Tualatin Food Pantry, Race for the Cure, Project Jumpstart, and the student store. Some ways I offer service outside of school is by being assistant to an art teacher every week and volunteering at the Beaverton Foodbank occasionally. I work with elementary aged kids that have an interest in art. At the beginning and end of each class, I will set up examples of sketches and books where the children can get inspiration from and also put out the supplies that the children will need such as paper, pencils of various lead hardness, paints, or paint
