Real Life Example A man, whose name shall remain anonymous, grew up in a home where his mother and father were separated; his mother had remarried when this man was a young child. The man’s now step-father was a ruthless individual who consumed himself in alcohol and because of this, the step-father often became violent towards not only the man’s mother, but his siblings as well. The man’s sister was sexually abused on various occurrences and the man was forced to listen as the abuse took place. Not only was the abuse inflicted on the man’s family, but himself as well. Leading into the man’s adult life, he married a woman who had a daughter. The daughter and the man had a wonderful relationship. He would take her to baseball games and teach her things in life she needed to know such as how to wash laundry or do the dishes, but there was a dark part to their relationship.
