Janet Kelfer was 15 to 25 years old in the 1970’s. She lived in the same home she was born in with her both biological parents and older sister. Her father was emotionally abusive and her mother was a perfectionist who worked a lot. Janet sated, her older sister was impregnated in high school. Her father took her for an illegal abortion and proceeded to bug their phones and scrutinize all activity. She remembers being very fearful of her father and complying with everything asked of her. She has been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder. Janet claims to be constantly on edge, extremely tense, excessively worried, and it is difficult for her to control her worries. Janet also became extremely independent at a very young age because of her father’s abuse. She is more resilient because of this abuse. Janet is also a perfectionist and nothing is ever good enough for her. To Janet, when she makes a mistake she imagines her father having an angry explosion.
