Jay Gatsby showed extreme attachment issues throughout the whole book. First of all on page 76, Gatsby went to war. He wrote Daisy a beautiful letter, which would have been so romantic and sweet however, she received this letter on her wedding day with Tom. Also, Jordan shares with Nick, on page 78, while out to eat that Gatsby for 5 years was not in contact with Daisy at all. Everyone had assumptions that he was doing extreme crime and illegal activity. On page 48, he was even suspected that he was bootlegging. Even Tom said he was a bootlegger. There was one party that Daisy did show up to. On page 102, Daisy came to one of Gatsby’s last parties with Tom and Nick. Gatsby is so sneaky that he even played it off that everything was normal with Tom even though he knew he was having and affair with Daisy. He did however try and show off to Tom about all of the amazing things that he had. He was so set on keeping his affair with Daisy a secret that he, on page 114, even fired all of his servants and got new ones from his buddy Wolfsheim. He knew those men wouldn’t talk so he decided to keep them around. He knew exactly what he was doing. If he wasn’t so sneaking with his life maybe his life would have turned out different. He shouldn’t have stayed with Daisy; he should’ve moved on 5 years ago. Then chapter 7 would have turned out completely
