Cyberbullying is an evolving from of bullying that students are faced with due to the growth and expansion of technology and the internet. Overall, bullying has been a prevalent issue facing students across the country and Louisiana has created laws to combat the threat to adolescents. Traditional bullying typically occurs face to face between the aggressor and the victim, but cyberbullying is harassment that occurs through electronic means where the two parties may be physically separated. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other bodies assessing the matter, anywhere between 20 – 40% of surveyed students suffer from some form of bullying.
