Humans need social experience to learn their culture and to survive. Socialization, the lifelong social experience by which people develop their human potential and learn culture, is the basis of the prior specified statement. The influence on society plays a grave importance on all that an individual says, does, and thinks. Although there are many positive aspects to society and the role it plays on the lives of individuals there are also many negative aspects.
In life there are various social groups one can belong to. Depending on which group an individual may choose to affiliate with, they could potentially be setting themselves up to be prejudged due to the group being labeled. Labeling is a way for society to perceive the impossible complexity

In 2013, 74.4% of all households reported Internet use. With quicker accessibility to the social media sites and it is easier to fall victim to society‚Äôs latest trends. Although these trends typically are short lived the impacts they have on individuals can be long lasting. It is now more easy than ever to be influenced by others. At just a click of a button, a person can be introduced to numerous amounts of different cultures and environments. The explosion of Facebook although convenient for finding lost friends is also a breeding ground for cyber bullying. Cyberbullying is when a person bullies someone through electronic technology. Studies show that one in four teens have been a victim of cyberbullying. Mass media are the tools for transfer of ideas, concepts, and information. The three main goals of mass media are to shape public relations, educate, and advocate for a particular point of view. Television, the radio, and the internet are the three main ones. Mass media can either be a positive or negative influence depending on the message trying to be communicated.
