Why Do We Use Internet Predators?

In modern day society, we use technology on a daily basis to do almost any task. From studying to cooking, and even shopping, technology has advanced to make tasks like these simpler. However, the advancements in technology has a few flaws. One flaw involves how we interact with other people on a daily basis. Due to how anonymous social media can be, new threats have emerged, including cyber bullying, and internet predators. In addition, a man named Nicholas Carr has essentially stated that the internet is making us dumber. Therefore, I agree with Sherry Turkle’s assertion that the new communications that new technologies are corrosive to real community.
With advancement of technology, came the development of the internet and social media sites. These sites may make communicating with others easier, but they have also began to take over how we interact with people. Many people behave differently on these sites, compared to how they would in real life. For example, people feel that they can say anything online because many sites allow a user to be anonymous. This has been a reason behind a new form of bullying called, cyber bullying. However, due to how many people can be anonymous, internet predators emerge. These people usual target young children over the internet, and attempt to lure them for inappropriate and illegal actions. In addition, due to how innocent children are, many do not see the dangers of talking to a stranger, especially if they are nice. This interaction has caused many children and teens to be lured to unknown locations and assaulted. Some are even kidnapped, never to be seen again. Therefore, internet predator are new threats that are brought with new communications that new technologies
