It is a system that divides society and labels individual's based on their social or economic status. In the novel 1984 by George Orwell there are three main class systems which are called the The Inner Party, Outer Party, and the Proles. The Inner Party class members have the upper hand and more over the Outer Party and Proles. Although the Outer Party members don’t have a lot of power, they can incite a revolution against the Inner Party class and things can start to get out of control. In the novel it states that “The Outer Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of another, we are interested solely in power” (Orwell 332). There is a great deal of intrusion and interference in the lives of its citizens because of power and control the government wants and has. The party seeks power because it is fundamentally driven to eradicate any possible threat. "Do you begin to see, then, what kind of world we are creating...A world of fear and treachery is torment...There will be no loyalty, except loyalty towards the Party” (Orwell 305). The Party aspires to create a world that lives off of fear and torment, and loyalty to the party will be the only acceptable loyalty. In Romeo and Juliet it states “two households, both alike in dignity” which means that the two families are in the same social standing. These two families are enemies for some reason, and along the way members of these families by the names of Romeo and Juliet fall in love. But because of the position their families are in, it is kind of hard for them to exploit their love to their families fully.
