“Cultural differences should not separate us from each other, but rather cultural diversity brings a strength that can benefit all of humanity” – Robert Allen. This quote should be the representation of how all people should feel when it comes to cultural awareness. Different cultures should want to know about other cultures that could help to cut out some of the confusion in the world. Cultural awareness is to bring about knowledge of a particular culture. Throughout this essay the reader will gain knowledge of the South Korean culture and understand some of their cultural practices. South Korea is located on the southern half of the Korean cape, which extends about 620 miles. South Korea is surrounded by Russia, China and Japan and North Korea (www.everyculture.com, n.d) that has at one time or another have tried to dominate the country. “The capital of South Korea is Seoul which was first established as the capital of the Choson Dynasty in 1394 and is in the northwest part of the country on the Hans River” (www.everyculture.com, n.d). “Currently there are 50,146,933 people who live in South Korea at this time” (worldpopulationreview.com, n.d). “South Korea tends to have a lot of rain that comes more in the summer than any other season” (www.kwintessential.co.uk, n.d).
