Everyone agrees that education is good, but there is a wide disagreement on what education is (citation needed). The context of the traditional vs progressive debate is a term used in the political debate; I have been reading a lot of articles that talk about traditional and progressive debate in the school system and one thing that I have learned is that progressive in education is the key to success in life for everyone but I also believe that it is necessary to develop an underlying educational systems theory in a manner that it can be tested through logical and empirical validation. I believe the main goal of educational reform is to improve student academic achievement, and if successful, this would be expected to subsequently improve economic conditions and the quality of life. I also think the action of idealistic and well-informed teachers and community activists, although crucial are not enough. Leaders can both positively and negatively influence the educations and educational experiences of the children in their schools. Leadership matters.
