Situational Analysis
The SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats) for a global company like Walmart consist of many of each of the four areas. To start of we will start off with the strengths: “Walmart is a powerful retail brand. It has a reputation for value for money, convenience and a wide range of products all in one store.”(",") With this said it serves greatly to people with busy lifestyles seeking to save some time shopping for everything in one store instead of multiple. “The company has a core competence involving its use of information technology to support its international logistics system. For example, it can see how individual products are performing country-wide, store-by-store at a glance.” (",")With this type of technology they have they can expand and be more productive. They will be able to see which products they need to keep up with the demand in certain stores, which to discontinue and possibly which new ones to introduce in certain regions of the world based on culture and preference.
Focusing on the weaknesses of a global empire like Walmart is as big as it is. One major weakness of Walmart is its diversity in its four walls. Since it doesn’t only sell, clothes, food, or house products it is difficult to concentrate its works into one department. Say
