Case Study: My Virtual Child

My virtual Child - Victor, is six years old now. Comparing his shy nature when he was at age of three, his personality become a somewhat outgoing child. His development of various skills meets with the standard of a preschooler.

From his 2 years old to now, his development in different aspects have a great changes.
Physical: Victor is not energies boy, he like quiet activities and not interest in sports or exercising. Since he 6 years old, his memory is getting better, he can play Concentration game with me because he remembers where the cards are located. Also, he can play the electronic keyboard with simplified musical notation. By age five, children 's brains are 90 percent the weight of an average adult 's weight (Feldman & Landry, 2014.

He is very interested in listening to books. He learned a lot of the letter from TV, books and songs. He is able to murmur to himself "My teacher 's nice" to express his feeling of the first day of school. Also, He can tells people what happed in event, although he leaves a lot of details out when he described. His language skills developing conform to the textbook "Private speech and Social speech" in the preschool years. After age three, children are more like to speech direct toward another person to build their social relationship.

Emotional and social: He completely adapt to the school life. He gets along well with other children and has several friends at school. One thing I attention is he very care about the relationship between I with his father. Our arguments can cause he feel very upset and misbehave. "Preschoolers form genuine friendships and develop close ties with other children-a circumstance facilitated by a warm, supportive home environment" (Feldman & Landry, 2014. P,171). I think that family is the first and most important institution for a child, it offers the growth of environment, quality education, health and happiness index. The income of parents determines their family 's socioeconomic status. In china, the rich families are able to send their child to private and costly school, their children get high quality and bilingual education from a young age. Many children, who live in the poor villages, their parents can 't afford to send them to school. This two classes people raise children in two kind of parenting way, who are educated, and those who are not. This different socioeconomic status decides the situation of children 's life, even in their future. According the textbook, "The style of parenting that is most successful can depend quite heavily on the norms of a particular culture, and what parents in a particular culture are taught regarding appropriate childrearing practices" (Feldman & Landry, 2014. P,173 ). In western societies, parents expect and encourage their children to thinking independently, to be brave and conscientious. In Chinese culture, parents want their children to achieve the social standard, which is get high score in school, to be a obedient child and follow their guidance in any aspect of life.
