I believe that it's was the narrator’s fault for Doodle’s death because the narrator was always pushing him, to get better, all the time. The narrator was always making Doodle do things that he couldn’t do so he always had work hard. He made Doodle learn how to walk and swim and do other things that the doctor said that he wouldn’t be able to do. The only reason the narrator made Doodle do this was so he could have a normal brother and so he wouldn't have to carry him around anymore. That’s why I believe it is the narrator's fault for Doodle’s death. One of the reasons why I said it is the narrator’s fault that Doodle died is because he is always making Doodle do things that he couldn't do and make Doodle always work hard. The bird and Doodle both died because they were exhausted and there hearts were too weak to handle it. If the narrator didn't run away from Doodle and just wait for him he still would have been alive. These are the reasons why I think it's narrator fault for Doodle’s death. I think that the narrator push him to much to the limit that he couldn't take it anymore. The bird died the same way as Doodle. Both of them were pushed to their limits. The Scarlet Ibis Argumentative Essay In The Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst the story suggests that the brother is guilty of Doodles death because he thought Doodle should die, he taught Doodle for his own selfish reasons, and he ignored the doctor’s warnings. For my first reason why I said the brother is guilty is because he thought that Doodle should die. The bird is not figuratively out of place like Doodle, however, the ibis is physically in a place that it does not belong. The bird comes much later in the story but shows it is out of place very quickly. This is directly done to have the bird indicate how quickly Doodle's internal isolation is recognized. This shows that you shouldn’t let your pride and cruelty deprive you of your judgement because instead of just letting Doodle rest and get better, the narrator’s pride pushed him to continue on with his brother’s training. And this was the start of something that the narrator might regret for the rest of his life. This theme is also shown at the end of the story, after a lightning bolt destroyed a tree, when doodle tripped, a moment of cruelty took the narrator’s judgement. The narrator says, “The knowledge that Doodle’s and my plans had come to naught was bitter, and that streak of cruelty within me awakened. I ran as fast as I could, leaving him far behind with a wall of rain dividing us”(5).…
