Roman Catholicism and Presbyterianism are two religions that people in the world today participate in and live by. Each of them have stemmed from the time of Jesus Christ. Back then there was not a good way to create text to last forever for others to read. When the time came around for the word of the Lord to be recorded— the text was written in a language that not everyone could read or understand. So when things were converted for others, countless stories and preaching’s were translated differently. After everyone could read the scripture for themselves various people started to interpret it in diverse ways and disagree with what the contemporary view stated. And that is when the reformers created their own ideas and beliefs. Presbyterianism and Roman Catholicism are two religions that are fundamentally different excepting some surface similarities.
God’s Mercy in Roman Catholicism and Presbyterianism
When it comes to God’s Mercy in these two ways of life we can see more similarities than differences. According to Sacrosanctum Concilium Roman Catholics have faith in God in that he is merciful and offers salvation. As stated, “Therefore the Church announces the good tidings of salvation to those who do not believe, so that all men may know the true God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent, and may be converted from their ways, doing penance.” In other words they believe that all of the members of the Church are saved if they actively participate in communion, doing good…
