When we first read “Letter to His Father,” I did not like Kafka because I believed he was never truly abused like some said. But after reading “Before the Law” and “The Metamorphosis,” I admire how Kafka used his pain from his childhood to fuel his stories because it really shows. Another piece of literature I truly enjoyed was Oedipus. I had the opportunity to curl up with the play and a cup of coffee over winter break and truly sink myself in the story. As I read, I looked up words and phrases I did not know and underlined key parts in the book. I enjoyed how I could predict parts of the play and how it had many plot twists. When I was answering the questions, I got together with Dellonique to help and we worked through them and that is when things got complicated. For a good fifteen minutes, we were googling and asking all the fellow AP English students (including employees) at Panera who in the world Cadmus was. I felt Antigone was a good conclusion of the play but I did happen to enjoy Oedipus more. The close reading and presentation with my partner Sarah worked overall
