The MOSL Test And The Flipped Day

Decent Essays
This week is the most stressful week that I ever experienced. I have so many topics I still need to write for my paper and I already plan all my available writing time for this week, but things always come out surprisingly! The MOSL test and the Flipped Day took so many time, I have to change my original plan again. I have tried to do my writing at home, but because of many things, I was not able to get a lot done on the weekdays and I have to prepare for my final exam for my college now class this Saturday. So many things happen at once, I wish I can spend my time more effectively in last three weeks!
Beside all the stress, I think I did a good job on my writing. I was able to organize most of my ideas into the paper and still add the new

Dear, Kimmie During my revision process I realized how much I have grown as a writer, I went from someone who was just good enough to get an A in every other English class, to someone who had to try his butt off for the A. This in turn let me learn more in an English class than I ever had before and also let me grow into the prospering writer you see before you today. I learned many things this year that helped really push my writing to the next level that it needed to go, in order to be at that collegiate level. So for that I say thank you, because if it weren’t for you I would be stuck at Nampa with a teacher who mediates in her class. And this would not have let me grow as a writer whatsoever, leaving me stuck in the same old pattern of…

During my junior year at Stephen Decatur High School, I was enrolled in American Literature with Mrs. Moore. At first I thought she was a hard teacher because she made us write a lot. I enjoyed writing creative pieces, but in her class she gave us a prompt or we had to analyze a text and prove how the author believed in the American Dream or not. The first essay we wrote I scored a 29 out of 30 and was proud of myself because English has not always been my strongest subject. Our next assignment was on The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.…

Even though it does not feel as though I have improved much, I know that the grades on my essays say differently. After looking over my essays, I noticed that I have become better with using evidence to support my papers. This, to me, is my best accomplishment. I have also improved on my word choice, organization, and how I use my quotes. If you were to compare the first paper I wrote to the last paper I wrote, I feel as though it would be obvious on how much my organization has improved.…

During this time I was having trouble on writing a top level high school paper like a lot of the other students in my class. Looking back on this you could tell that eventually my lack of writing skills would catch up to me and it happened. When I completed the required class over the summer I felt more confident in my writing skills than ever before. I remember our first essay for english III and feeling nervous because it was my first graded essay since taking the class. Once I completed it I remember feeling confident in my work, which is something I really have not felt when writing a paper for a while.…

Throughout the first semester of College Composition, I wrestled with three essays, all differing in format and content. The first was a narrative that reflected our educational experience. After this came an analysis of a visual text, followed by a research paper. The narrative was the easiest to write; however, I acquired important skills for writing the other two, which were in a less familiar format. With the three essays, I learned about my own writing skills and habits concerning development and critical thinking, time management, and organization.…

I started my journey through writing this year a bundle of nerves and a stomach full of coffee. This is my first year taking an advanced English course, but I was determined to do well. There has been no sleeping in class or slacking off this year, I’m lucky enough to take a college course a year early and at a better price, and I’m not going to waste it. I’ve learned a lot this semester, including but not limited to: identifying how exactly the author’s purpose and audience determines effective writing, developing pieces of writing though a process of planning, revising, and drafting, compose an organized essay with clear points and main ideas, used appropriate tone and formality, critiqued writing, and finally how to grasp the MLA format. My writing has improved through the concepts I have learned this semester.…

Why do you want to write on this topic? • In my American government class, we have a textbook that we read and in this book it went over the American prison system and how we have the most people incarcerated in all of the world. Over and over again, jail doesn’t actually reform the people that are in there. It’s a revolving door.…

A lot can happen in just ten short weeks. I feel like I have grown from an amateur writer to a more advanced writer. But do not get me wrong, I know there is still much more room for improvement. The first half of the quarter was focused on the Rhetorical Analysis Essay and the second half was more geared towards the Rhetoric in Practice Project and Essay. At the time, I was just completing these assignments because they were mandatory, but looking back at the quarter I have noticed great improvements and growth not only as a student, but also as a writer.…

Over the first semester I feel I have been appropriately challenged in the area of writing we have done this year. I learned many new skills, but the most important one involves English and how to write properly. As for the first writing, I really did not understand what was right and what was wrong. Because I never paid close attention to specific rules in how to write. I truly believe it has been hard for me.…

When it comes to writing I do not believe I am a great writer. I struggle with writing as well, I am not capable of producing great writings. I have had horrible experiences with writing. To be completely honest I have mixed feelings about writing and I don’t really have any memorable experiences that made me feel this way, it is just the experiences that I have had with the subject while trying to apply it. I struggle with what to write down mostly and creativity in general and I don’t really excel at any part of it. If I were to say I “excel” at anything it would be revising my work and adding to it. At the end of the semester I hope that I have relearned some key writing elements that lack of practice has caused me to lose.…

Like I previously stated I learned how to do many things with my writing this semester. The first essay we wrote, a narrative, was probably my favorite essay to write. I’ve chosen to focus on “Exploration and Argumentation” as the subject of this reflective introduction, specifically looking at my argument paper, “Abortion: Right or Wrong?” as a reference to the importance of this learning outcome. I chose to focus on this particular learning outcome because it was the most difficult essay for me to create. While writing this essay it was difficult for me to understand and reciprocate the opposing viewpoint. Understanding an unfamiliar idea and giving ideas for or against a topic is key to creating a fluent argumentative essay.…

From the Mesopotamian civilization to the present day civilization, writing has taken a place of importance in our daily lives; something I have always struggled with. Through school the most difficult subject that I have always struggled with is English. Growing up my first language was Spanish due to the fact that my parents do know much English. My parents were never able to read to me in English preventing me from hearing and seeing the English language; it was not until I entered elementary school that I was exposed to English. This has contributed to my difficulties in English courses throughout my education.…
