College Tuition Should be Affordable

Community college tuition should be free; or at least affordable. With the rise of tuition rates and increasing student debt, students need a workable solution. Student’s today have multiple outlets that are competing for their attention such as the following: studying, writing papers, working, and building relationships with students. Additionally, students are faced with overwhelming tuition rates and fees. To find a solution, one has to look at multiple options. President Obama proposed to make community college tuition free for two years. Tennessee 's governor has also implemented a similar proposal that would make community college free for the first two years. Could this be the solution college age students are looking for?

What are the possible outcomes of this proposal? The possibility of higher education will become available to a group of students who would normally be left behind. However, what are the possible negative outcomes of this proposal? An increase in taxes is what comes to mind most often. What if there was a solution that would not cost the state or the American people?

President Barack Obama unveiled a proposal to make the first two years of community college tuition free for students who uphold certain standards.
