Everyone who lives in America has either experienced or has witnessed the harsh effects that college tuition can create. Students go into higher education experiences and are often forever in debt with the ghastly student loans. With the rates of college tuition continually growing, it has begun to raise the question “Should college be free to students in America?” There are many great reasons why college should be free to those in America. It would create a better educated population, college graduation rates would increase, fewer Americans would seek public assistance after completing school, and it would expose students to a more diverse and understanding lifestyle. First of all, creating free higher education is a good idea because it creates an improved education population. Often people ask “Why is it important to have an intelligent community?” Not only is education the core of commitment in our society, but an educated population is crucial to a nations prosperity. If students were able to attend college they would be living, socializing and going to classes with people from around the world with different values and morals. Students are likely to make friends, create love interests, and make business connections with such a variety of different people. This is important because it creates a more accepting environment.
