My routine for my late night solo activities starts with a light stretch kind of like how when you wake up in the morning, you hit the snooze button to help you ease into the day. It’s just all routines, from the way I get ready to serve to a shower in the morning, getting ready to propel yourself into the world or the court. A bounce between my …show more content…
Well, I have to go home at some point so I wrap it up round full circle to where I began, like how you go to bed at night as that’s where you started in the morning. As I get ready to leave, I lay against the fence. I’m dripping in cold sweat, exhausted and my body feels numb. There… time stops. There is no water, food, people, stress… it’s just the chill breeze and my heartbeat. Nothing matters but that moment, I start to appreciate the little things and forget everything that’s wrong with my life. Everything's a blur but eventually it’ll come clear. I linger but I know when it’s time to give into hunger and thirst. As I pack everything up, the wind begins to cut into my skin, chilling my body and freezing the sweat in my shirt. I wonder why I do these things. But it’s the feeling that I am the only person out there that matters and that I can stop time in exchange for exhaustion. It sounds crazy but it’s worth the pain I feel in the morning. In life we often rush, I know I do and it’s brought me many problems, so it doesn’t hurt to slow down every now and then and take a little

My interest in communications dates back to elementary school, though I didn’t recognize it as such at the time. I had always been fascinated with sharing ideas and opinions. I spent years on the debate team, and found joy in typing key points across countless index cards. Any possible argument and counter-argument was concisely outlined and neatly filed in an old brown recipe box festooned with sparkly stickers. I was equally happy being ‘pro’ or ‘con’, much to the chagrin of my family when I couldn’t contain rebuttals to the classroom.…

Tonight is the night before the night of my Cross Country meet, and piles of homework cover my cluttered desk. My watch displays the time as 10:11 P.M., and I sigh deeply knowing that I have no choice but to shove the loose papers and binders into my backpack. I finished my before bed routine, and crawl underneath my covers. With the guilt of knowing I will not reach eight hours of sleep tonight, I force my brain to shut down, and darkness envelopes me. The next day drags on and soon find myself falling captive to my bed once more.…

I feel an unbreakable sense of passion and emotion towards all people, animals, and life itself. With so much beauty to be found in the people we meet, the locations we visit, and the experiences we undergo, it truly affects me deeply to see anyone or anything suffer through a life that offers less than it has the potential to provide. Every day for the last 6 months has been exactly the same, I start each day by walking across the road to the same old cafe. By now, I know all the cracks in the pavement and I could easily make it through my day with my eyes shut. I walk straight past the counter without having to order, then sit in my usual seat by the window alone and take out my laptop.
