Culturally relevant pedagogy promotes cultural acceptance and awareness in the classroom environment. It is effective in supporting the student(s) cultural identity and helps the student(s) develop perspectives that challenge inequalities in schools and society. This educational method promotes focus on student’s strength and abilities by incorporating aspects of the student(s) culture and experiences. Teachers should support students with different resources that examine aspects of their identity (such as cultural identity) into the classroom experience. This approach results in students using their knowledge and interests to benefit academically. Ultimately creating a sense of awareness and acceptance that builds relationships within the classroom.
