Scientists have tried to make people aware about climate change, but many just ignore the issue. In order to prevent climate change, much importance needs to be placed on the causes and costs of climate change.
There are many evidences of climate change. Climate change has caused the warming of the oceans. The primary cause of the warming of the oceans is the human expansion of the greenhouse effect. This is caused by the combustion of fossil fuels in cars, factories, and electricity production. The greenhouse effect is also caused by methane released from landfills and agriculture, nitrous oxide from fertilizers, gases used for refrigeration and industrial processes, and the loss of forests that would otherwise store CO2 (National Geographic 2016). As greenhouse gases trap more energy from the sun, the oceans are absorbing more heat, resulting in an increase in sea surface temperatures and rising sea level (EPA 2016).
