“Special education law provides a process for evaluating your child and developing her academic plan through an “individualized education program,” or IEP” (Siegel, L. M. (2004). IEPs include different components and involve sometimes up to 10 individuals. If the students receives related services that include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and clinical the IEP team contains a lot of input. This paper will analysis a parent with a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) interview about their child’s IEP process. In addition, this paper will focus on the parents input and how important it is for parents to provide feedback, opinions, and support during the IEP process.
