In order to effectively understand the Autistic child's needs and to plan effective strategies and enable appropriate provision for children with autism there is a requirement for an assessment to be carried out in order to quickly identify the child's needs. The views of the child and parents are also regarded and is included in the decision-making of the assessment. The Code of Practice, DFE (2015) suggests a variety of information that may be used as resources to identify an autistic child needs:
