Nowadays feel like everyone's parents are getting divorced. According to the U.S. census, about 50 percent of all American children born in 1982 will have parents that will be divorced sometime within there 18 years of living at home (Beekman, 1986, par. 1). Keep the child on a schedule, make the child do their homework at both house at the same time. Keep the same times at each household for everything. Both parents need to act like business partners when it comes to the child. This will help the parents put the child first and there other problems second (Kids, divorce, and school success, n.d. par 2-12). Figure out how you will divide the child’s time, put them in a sport for after school, put them in an after school activity so they can maintain relationships with people and know how to talk to other people.
