My desire to become a Chick-fil-A Operator is multifaceted, with both personal and business/leadership related desires playing a part. My personal goals include the ability to provide a comfortable living for my wife and our future children, as well as to be a servant-leader in my household. My business goals include: collaborating with other operators and community members to build a high performance brand, executing my entrepreneurial mindset to constantly improve processes and resolve issues, and leaving a legacy that would honor God with all that He has entrusted to me. The ability to provide for one’s family is something for which most everyone strives for on a daily basis.…
The organizations I chose to compare are Chick-fil-A and Zaxby’s. A. The roles are very similar as both companies sell chicken and fries! Both companies have CEO’s and board members who strive to run their businesses following their values and mission statements. B. Both companies have similar inside cultures but one goes a little more.…
Both Chipotle and Chick-fil-A have similar philosophies about fresh and organic food supplies. The two fast-food restaurants are used to analyze internal processes, concepts and tools. A flowchart is depicted to show a visual representation of the original supply chain that may have led to Chipotles food contamination crisis. An additional flowchart is included to suggest an improved way to supply the Chipotle restaurant chains to prevent such an incidence. Chick-fil-A is analyzed and a flow chart is presented to evaluate how the manufacturing process can be improved to remain competitive.…
Chick-fil-An additionally supports many kinds of athletic and community events. On a national level, Chick-fil-A promotes two critical college football games, the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game and the Chick-fil-A Bowl. The sponsorships permits Chick-fil-A to put their name before a setting that is watched by millions nationwide who might be athletes themselves or just simply sports fans While Chick-fil-A's principle target market is families especially kids, their auxiliary target market is athletes, sports fans and active people.…
As a former athlete I am always looking for food on the go. I was never a big McDonalds, Burger or Wendy’s person, but two places that I have loved since my first bite are Chipotle and Chick-Fil-A. Both are places that I would eat at on a weekly basis, at minimum. This ended in October 2015. There were two separate outbreaks of the bacteria were investigated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service and public health officials in several states. In the first outbreak 55 people were infected by the foodborne illness in 11 states, of which 21 were hospitalized.…
Joshua, The organization you selected, Chick-Fil-A is certainly an industry leader within their market segment and offers a unique and interesting case study for questions such as this one. Chick-Fil-A is a company that operates quite differently than most within its market segment due to the core values of the organization and the differences in the operational techniques used within the organization. One of the main difference between Chick-Fil-A and almost every other competitor within their market segment of the fast food industry is that they are closed on Sundays regardless of where they are located. This is fundamental part of the organization and comes back to the core values of family and faith that the organization was originally…
I have customers whom I love because they are always polite. On the other hand, people from another ethnic group shares similar characteristics; it is how an individual person is not their…
When we walked in to the union there are different varieties of smells all around me. People are sitting down talking and eating you also see lines to the left and right. When I took look over at the empty space where Chick Fil A was I see KoFusion. At that point I want to just take off running to KoFusion like I was a little kid at Disney world. As Soon I walked up to the restaurant there was a long line, that happy feeling that I had went away fast very fast.…
Customer service and the right sales people will make or break a business. Take a place like Starbucks. Sure, their product is very good, but if you were treated badly every time you went in there you would stop going. They do something right. Say what you want about Chick-Fil-A’s stance on marriage equality but if you go in there to eat some chicken, you leave feeling good.…
Leidner wrote a book, Fast Food Fast Talk: Service work and the routinization of everyday life, in which she worked in and observed working life in a McDonalds and compared it to an insurance company. Her book focused on the routinization of service jobs and its effect on the people working, the customers consuming the product, and the effect it has on the company. This paper focuses on a McDonalds in the Southside of Jacksonville, FL and how it compares to the observations made in Leidner’s book. Going into this project, there were not many expectations made about what to expect in the McDonalds observed. The following are the expectations that were kept in mind while the field observations, discussed later in this paper, were conducted.…
Cheryl Bachelder, CEO of Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, was able to change the way Popeyes viewed service. Mrs. Bachelder’s faith and her belief that we are here to serve God and do His work is the basis for her servant style of leadership. Prior to Mrs. Bachelder’s appointment as CEO in 2007, Popeyes had been experiencing declining sales and unhappy franchise owners. Mrs. Bachelder herself had gone through a recent downturn with serious health issue and losing her job as CEO of KFC, but she used the time to find her purpose and reflected on how to use her influence to serve God through the services of others (Bachelder, 2014). Mrs. Bachelder created the “Roadmap to Results”, that has remain unchanged since implementation over seven years ago,…
I never expected working at a fast food restaurant to change my life. When I first applied online, I had a preconceived notion about what my experience at Chipotle would be like. I expected the fast food restaurant to be like any other I had heard about. I would go to work, make food, then go home. In direct contrast, the environment at Chipotle is like nothing I’ve ever experienced, not even in a Christian school.…
Popeyes was first a standard chicken quick serve restaurant called Chicken on the Run. The owner, Alvin C. Copeland had lackluster sales in the restaurant and changed the recipe of the chicken served. Copeland also changed the name to Popeyes. Popeyes is a Cajun chicken fast food restaurant with their motto being “Love That Chicken.” Popeyes offers a variety of food including spicy chicken, chicken tenders, fried shrimp, and other regional items.…
It has taught me to put my needs aside and get the job done. Overall I feel blessed for my time working in a restaurant. It has given me financial security throughout high school and college and taught me life lessons that have molded me into the well-rounded individual I am…
Synopsis of the Case: Panera Bread Company started in 1976 and quickly developed into the phenomenon it is today. Panera was created on the concept of using simple ingredients to create the sourdough in its bread. The use of sourdough cultivated the company into success, while being the vision and driving force behind everything the company does (Hoffman, Wheelen, Hunger, & Bamford, 2015, pp. 16-2). Since starting in 1976, the company has gone public, invested in new acquisitions, while changing their business concepts and strategies.…
